VW T4 Camper / Surf Bus - 1993 VW Caravelle GL, 2.5 Petrol. 129k miles. MOT till Aug 2016. £7000, No Offers. We bought the van 4 years ago with the side furniture & R&R bed fitted. Since then it has been a labour of love & £000's spent. Engine has had new coil pack, plugs, HT leads, Dizzy cap, switches, sensors, overflow bottle, hoses & K&N. The auto box has just been fully reconditioned by a specialist with new internals at a cost of over £1700. Suspension was treated to Bilstein B6 shortened shocks, Eibach heavy duty pro sport springs. Ride height adjusted to sensible low, no rattles & really comfortable as well as awesome cornering. Track rod ends & ball joints recently replaced too. The front seats are light grey leather sports seats on custom lowered swivels to keep original seat height. The seats are heated and have switches & wiring, but we never tested or connected this. Drivers is height adjustable & lumber support. The interior R&R bed was re-trimmed in grey fireproof fabric, with matching feather cushions & full width bolster pillow. The under bed storage & rear cupboard are same fabric with magnetic securing. There is a modified PMS 1 distribution unit in rear with a split charge relay, switchover to large leisure battery (2 yrs old) from the dash and 3 mcb's for 240v hookup & 12v fuses for lighting & accessories. Flush mounted Hookup point fitted on rear wing. Numax battery charger, conditioner & power supply permanently fitted so charges on hookup. 2 x 240v sockets in front of side unit behind drivers seat and 2 in rear. 5 12v sockets & USB. LED lighting & interior lights. Radio, interior lights & cigar socket have a bypass / diode to switch to leisure battery when parked and run on car battery when driving. 300w inverter in rear to run 240v off leisure battery if you need it. There is a small 12v / 240v fridge flush fitted behind drivers seat that holds 8 juice cans. Also a 220g suitcase gas stove in front cupboard for a quick cuppa. Loads of storage in two front cupboards, fitted with proper push button locks to keep them shut when driving. A removable, adjustable VESA iPad / TV bracket is fitted in rear pillar between the windows. Curtains fitted and a full (8 Window) set of Just Campers Thermal Screens included. We also fitted a really rare, recon eberspaecher petrol heater and digital timer. Pumbed to the petrol tank fuel return so gives heat as long as you have fuel, but can't run tank too low. A blessing in winter! It was as noisy, so now has genuine intake and outlet silencers to make it campsite friendly. Exterior has been treated to smoked side & rear lights and recent bottom half re spray and new front & rear bumpers to freshen up. Polished within an inch of its life & looks fab. Recent front tyres and good rears, all load rated Goodyear cargo mud & snow. Also new rear silencer. We fitted a modified low profile roof rails & bar set from a Chrysler voyager & there is a pricy Mont Blanc Roof box fitted to carry a blowkart & long snowboards. New Reimo multirail for the awning & will include a well used but good Outdoor Revolution Drive Away awning with the van. Witter Flanged Towbar fitted with single electrics to tow a small dinghy, but have only used a couple of times. We will include an unused 2 bike rack with lights and plate that fits this. New pioneer head unit with USB, iPhone & Bluetooth. Alpine speakers in dash, doors & rear. It's 22 yrs old, so by no means perfect and not a show van, but is a much loved and no expense spared T4, with new MoT. We have an opportunity to move to a newer Cali, so with some reluctance must sell to spend all our time and cash doing it all over on a new one.
